Midlands Research Festival 2020

We are proud to be supporting this year’s Midlands Research Festival alongside The Academy of Medical Sciences.

The Midlands Research Festival is taking place on 29th April 2020 in Nottingham. 

The Midlands Academy of Medical Sciences Research Festival is a unique biomedical and health research event that has been designed to bring early career researchers together to present their work, meet one another and to network with senior researchers.

The three main areas that the event is focussing on are Public Health/ Health Service Research, Obstetrics and Gynacology and Respiratory Science.

The key note speakers for this year’s festival includes AMS Fellows:

 ·      Professor Richard Lilford, CBE, FMedSci, Director of National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Applied Research Centre West Midlands (ARC WM), University of Birmingham

·      Professor Arri Coomarasamy, FMedSci, Professor of Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine, Director of the Tommy’s National Centre for Miscarriage Research, Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Global Women’s Health, University of Birmingham

·      Professor Chris Brightling, FMedSci, NIHR Senior Investigator and Clinical Professor in Respiratory Medicine, University of Leicester

 

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

We are pleased to invite authors to submit abstracts for oral and/or poster presentations to be delivered at this year’s festival. They will be able to present their abstracts alongside the above newly appointed Academy of Medical Sciences Fellows. 

Abstract authors must be Postgraduate Researchers or Early Career Researchers from one of the seven Midlands HEIs named:

  • Birmingham 

  • Keele

  • Leicester

  • Loughborough

  • Nottingham 

  • Warwick

  • Aston

 The deadline for abstract submission is midnight Monday 23rd March 2020
